Deodorant

An exciting topic as you shall soon discover.

Why can I not find a decent deodorant? I want a stick, because the gels just go on slimy and the aerosols are scary. I don’t buy into the invisible solids that are white, they end up turning the armpits of my shirts white. I shouldn’t need to wear an undershirt just because my deodorant sucks. So I want a clear stick. I also want one that both doesn’t smell very strongly (I don’t need to compete with my students for whose body products can be noticed from a distance), and one that is effective all day. Gillette (I think) used to make a line of these, in two scents (out of three) that I approved of. They have since phased them out. I cannot find the Cool Wave Clear Stick nor the Wild Rain Clear Stick anywhere. Every substitute I have tried so far, either smells so awful it never gets purchased, or only works for most but not all of the day. After I found both a shampoo and a deodorant that I liked, both companies discontinued those product lines. What’s next? Is Colgate going to discontinue my flavor of toothpaste?

I’m in lab, I’ve done nothing particular active all day, I have another hour of dealing with students, and my deodorant is starting to fail me. I’m rather annoyed about it. I don’t like being smelly.
